How do I earn money from Mdundo?

Eligible Revenue means revenue arising specifically from the monetization of Artist Content through advertising, licensing, or user subscriptions on the Mdundo platform or approved distribution partners. Only Eligible Revenue shall be subject to the Revenue Share model as described in this Agreement.

All eligible revenue made by Mdundo.com shall be distributed appropriately between Mdundo.com and its content providers.
Payments shall be calculated and shared on a 50:50 basis with the Content Provider and shall strictly be made to the Uploader and not any other third party regardless of Collective Management Organization (CMO) affiliations based on the declarations made under the Terms of use.

How does Mdundo make money?

All Music on Mdundo is free for users & is paid for by Advertisers and Telco Subscriptions.
Mdundo approaches these clients across Africa to advertise their products and services with us.
When a client agrees to use our service, we add commercials on our website and in our app.
On average Mdundo runs 10 to 20 campaigns every year.

How does Mdundo calculate artist earnings?

Mdundo pays 50% of our revenue to the artists. The 50% is split between artists according to the individual artists share of downloads visible in Mdundo account as dl%.
Example: If 1% of all downloads on Mdundo is from Artist XYZ, this artist would receive 1% of the 50%. This is the same way leading music services in the world as well as radio stations split the money.
The payment per download can vary significantly from payment to payment and the reason for the change in price is either:
More or less advertisement clients or
More or less total downloads from Mdundo.
Price goes up: If Mdundo makes more money or total downloads from Mdundo is decreasing.

Price goes down: If Mdundo makes less money or total downloads from Mdundo is increasing.

How does Mdundo work for an artist?

- Once you have signed up and uploaded your music, your fans can easily download your music.
- Mdundo then generates revenue from advertisements on the site and in the songs, exactly like a radio station.
- Every 6th month(i.e January & July), Mdundo will pay you a share of the revenue generated based on how many downloads you have.

It is recommended to use a computer
Date
Kindly follow the procedures set in place, while trying to insert the date. The year should be four digits YYYY, the month should be two digits MM, and the date should two digits DD, i.e 2018-02-04
Format
Ensure the song is in mp3 format. If not use the link provided to convert the song; https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-mp3
Browser
It is advisable to use Chrome as the browser.
Internet
Kindly check your internet connection.
Error

Unsaved File
Rename the audio file before uploading it. Ensure your file name is not too long or has any special characters
