We are honored to bring the legendary Chief Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun (widely known as Barrister) to Mdundo a true architect of culture and the undisputed pioneer of Fuji music. Born from the rich traditions of Islamic Ajisari/Islamic waka music and evolving into a fully recognized genre, Barrister didn’t just make music he created a movement. With his innovative blend of Yoruba percussion, deep lyrical storytelling, social commentary, and spiritual undertones, he transformed Fuji into one of Nigeria’s most influential and enduring musical genres.

For decades, his voice sound tracked the streets, the celebrations, and the everyday lives of millions. From Ramadan wake-up rhythms to electrifying live performances, his music carried messages of wisdom, identity, resilience, and community. His artistry inspired generations of Fuji stars and shaped the broader Nigerian music landscape in ways that still resonate today.

Now, through our partnership with DCME, this powerful and culturally significant catalogue is being preserved and delivered to a global digital audience making Barrister’s timeless records accessible to both longtime fans and a new generation discovering Fuji for the very first time.

This is not just a catalogue drop. It is the digital preservation of a legacy. It is the celebration of a pioneer.

It is the continuation of a cultural revolution.
