 Mdundo x Women in Music South Africa: Amplifying Women, Together

At the heart of the Women in Music South Africa (WIM) and Mdundo partnership is a shared belief: when women in music are given access, visibility, and knowledge, the entire industry moves forward. This campaign is a true value-for-value collaboration blending advocacy, education, and digital reach to create meaningful impact for women creatives across Southern Africa. As we reflect on our 2025 highlights, one of the standout moments was the Instagram Live session, which brought together voices from across the music ecosystem for an open, honest conversation on representation, opportunity, and growth. The live engagement reflected a strong appetite for spaces where women can learn, connect, and be seen, while organically extending the reach of both WIM and Mdundo to new and engaged audiences.

Building on this momentum, the partnership delivered the first WIM Masterclass, a milestone moment focused on practical industry knowledge. From music distribution and branding to digital growth and monetisation, the session equipped women artists and professionals with tools they can immediately apply to their careers. The Masterclass reinforced WIM’s role as a champion for Education and Empowerment, while positioning Mdundo as more than a music platform but also an active enabler of creative growth

Beyond the sessions themselves, the campaign drove strong cross-platform visibility, increased brand discovery, and deepened community trust. For WIM, it meant expanded digital presence and a powerful channel to scale its mission. For Mdundo, it strengthened thought leadership, audience engagement, and its commitment to supporting women in music through access and opportunity. Together, Women in Music and Mdundo demonstrated that real impact happens when platforms and purpose align creating space for women not just to participate in the music industry, but to lead, thrive, and shape its future.
