What is Djooky?
Djooky is a music startup that aims to create fairer opportunities for the rising musicians.
Djooky launched its operations in April 2020 and hit the ground running with amazing offerings to musicians in Africa.
It operates internationally with teams based in Los Angeles (USA), Berlin (Germany), London (UK), and Kyiv (Ukraine). Co-founded by Brian Malouf the multi-platinum US producer who has worked with the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson, the Djooky team also includes Grammy-nominated artist and music director Patrice Rushen, UK Ivor Novello winning songwriter Sacha Skarbek, producer/music executive and songwriter Justin Gray (whose credits include Mariah Carey, John Legend and Avril Lavigne), and ex-Universal executive and record producer Andrew Dakhovsky, Djooky co-founder and CEO.
Why is Djooky Important to me as an artist?
In July 2020, Djooky launched the world’s first global online music contest, the Djooky Music Awards.
The competition is open to all artists and songwriters from all around the world and runs four times a year.
Users can take part in the voting process via the Djooky app with the winning artist receiving $10,000 in cash and a recording session at Capitol Studios, Los Angeles (post-COVID).
What is Djooky Music Award
It is the largest online global song contest where artists and songwriters stand a chance to win weekly cash prizes.
This is achieved by artists signing up to the djooky platform, uploading their songs, and asking their fans to vote for them through the djooky app.
Winners advance from 3 different categories according to the number of points they receive from their fans.
National Round - This picks 3 winners from each country
Continental Round - This picks 3 winners from each continent
Global Round - This picks the overall winner who will receive a trip to record one song at the iconic Capitol Studios (LA, USA), with Brian Malouf. The award will include round trip plane tickets for two people, hotel accommodation, and daily allowance covering ground transportation and meals during the trip.
Cash prizes will also be awarded to the following winners:
First place - $10,000
Second place - $5,000
Third place - $2,000
Top song in each genre - $1,000
